FileCloud Desktop for Windows Release 23.253.0

March 2, 2026

To apply these enhancements and fixes, please update FileCloud Desktop from Windows using the link at the Additional Downloads page on the FileCloud website.

Uninstall FileCloud Sync if it is installed on the same machine that you are installing or running FileCloud Desktop on; otherwise, FileCloud Desktop will not work properly.

After upgrade to 23.253.0 is complete, users must re-login to FileCloud Desktop for Windows for the upgrade to take effect.

Release enhancements:

  • Self service white labeling is now available for FileCloud Desktop for Windows. Previously, only customers with Enterprise Advanced licenses could customize FileCloud, applying brand logos and names to system components. Now, other customers can take advantage of a lighter self-service white labelling feature, which enables them to apply their own company name, product name, upgrade URL, and support URL to FileCloud Desktop through configuration of a simple JSON file. See White Labeling in FileCloud Desktop for Windows.

  • Users are now alerted that file conflicts are present through the taskbar tray and the Activity tab of the dashboard. Through these features, users can open the file conflict location, view more information about the conflict, and dismiss the conflict. See How FileCloud Desktop for Windows handles change conflicts.

  • Documents shared securely can now be viewed through the WebDRM viewer.

  • ARM64 is now supported in FileCloud Desktop for Windows.

  • In logs, etl files have been replaced with txt files.

  • Users now have the ability to choose a drive letter for the FileCloud Desktop root in the login wizard. This ensures correct functioning if your content uses Excel macros or cross references other files. See Opening and Logging in to FileCloud Desktop in Windows for more information.

  • FileCloud Desktop for Windows now updates automatically, even when users are not logged in.

Release bug fixes:

  • The value set for serverurl when users configured mass deployment settings using registry keys was not applied. This has been fixed.

  • After installation of FileCloud Desktop for Windows, both the dashboard and the login wizard were shown. This has been fixed. If the user is already logged in, the dashboard is shown; if the user is logged out, the wizard is shown.

  • Edits to files in the Shared with Me folder were not being synced to the server. This has been fixed.

  • FileCloud Desktop for Windows was not starting automatically after installation. This has been fixed.

  • The warning “Push service is down, please contact our administrator” appeared erroneously on the FileCloud Desktop for Windows dashboard. This has been fixed.

  • The node-forge packet was updated due to a vulnerability.

  • A user was logged out of FileCloud Desktop and received a “Failed to load” error when they tried to log back in. This has been fixed.

  • If a user was using FileCloud Desktop when their password was changed in the admin portal, the expected popup for entering their new password did not appear. This has been fixed.

  • An issue causing files to fail to sync has been fixed.

  • When the language was changed in the settings on the dashboard and a file was shared through Windows Explorer, the share screen did not reflect the language change. This has been fixed.
