FileCloud Desktop for Windows Release 23.253.1

May 7, 2026

To apply these enhancements and fixes, please update FileCloud Desktop from Windows using the link at the Additional Downloads page on the FileCloud website.

Uninstall FileCloud Sync if it is installed on the same machine that you are installing or running FileCloud Desktop on; otherwise, FileCloud Desktop will not work properly.

After upgrade to 23.253.1 is complete, users must re-login to FileCloud Desktop for Windows for the upgrade to take effect.

Release enhancements:

  • Conflict information is now shown each time the user launches the app until the user resolves or dismisses the conflict or logs out.

  • The sync root location can now be changed from the login wizard.

  • There is now an option to change the user interface language from the log in wizard.

  • FileCloud Desktop for Windows now supports the multi-factor authentication methods introduced into FileCloud in 23.261.

Release bug fixes:

  • If the FileCloud Server version is 23.261 or greater, in content explorer, a lock icon appears beside locked files.

  • Users were unable to log in to FileCloud for Office using SSO credentials. This has been fixed.

  • When a file upload to a share location failed because the size limit was exceeded, the Activity tab showed an unknown error. Now the Activity tab shows “Error reported by server during upload.”

  • The share owner’s display name was used in paths instead of the username, which sometimes prevented the share recipient from accessing the share. This has been fixed, and the share owner’s username is now used.

  • FileCloud Desktop for Windows failed to start when the Windows account name contained non-unicode letters. This has been fixed.

  • Users were able to delete and later retrieve back a file or folder from a read-only folder share in content explorer. This has been fixed.
